Shareholders’ voices, questioning top management’s qualifications

An article in the Japanese newspaper, Asahi Shinbun, dated June 28, 2024, highlighted the shareholder’s voices questioning the top management’s qualifications. 

Eri Watanabe of the environmental NGO Market Forces, which has been making shareholder proposals to megabanks for the past few years, says: “Even if the proposals are rejected, it will be meaningful if the company’s response catches up with the speed of global decarbonisation.”
